Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This policy explains what information is collected when you use RankStash ("rankstash.com", "the site") and the choices you have. The short version: we do not collect personal data directly — we have no accounts, no contact forms, and no newsletters. Data collection happens only through third-party services (Google Analytics and Google AdSense), and only within the limits of the cookie consent you give.

1. Data we collect directly

None. The site is a static reference library. You can read every page without identifying yourself. If you email us at [email protected], we receive your email address and message, which we use only to respond.

2. Cookie consent

On your first visit, a consent banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies per category (analytics, marketing). Your choice is stored in a strictly-necessary cookie (cc_cookie, 6 months) on your device. No optional tracking starts before you choose. You can change your choice at any time via the panel.

3. Google Analytics 4 (analytics category)

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage: which pages are read, approximate geography, device type, and traffic sources. Google processes this data on our behalf under its Privacy Policy. If you reject analytics cookies, the Google Analytics script is never loaded and no analytics data about you is collected.

4. Google AdSense (marketing category)

The site shows ads served by Google AdSense to fund its operation.

  • With marketing consent: Google may use cookies and device identifiers to personalize ads and measure their performance, as described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
  • Without marketing consent: ads are still shown, but only as non-personalized (contextual) ads. Google serves them without setting tracking cookies, using only coarse information such as the page's content and your approximate location.

You can also control ad personalization globally in your Google Ad Settings.

5. Legal basis and retention

Optional cookies are set only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where applicable), which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future. The strictly-necessary consent cookie is set based on our legitimate interest in remembering your choice. Retention of analytics and advertising data is governed by Google's policies; we retain analytics data for no longer than 14 months.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EEA, UK, and certain US states), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we collect no personal data directly, requests generally concern data held by Google, exercisable through Google's own tools linked above. You can also contact us at [email protected].

7. Children

The site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or applicable law evolves. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version.
